Amilee & The Xerr

This is the first version of Amilee I had ever done. It's A3 of course, and the skin textures were just all kinds of terrible. The outfit is so old I have no idea what it is anymore. Think this was also one of my first tests of displacement maps (on the tree). And my first lesson in using low-rez ground layers (ie. not to do it again). But the Xerr did come out pretty nicely. Still all in all, the set does kinda hold a special place for me. And it kinda made me fall in love with the character.

Thanks, looks certainly good enough to me. But then again, I am not a 3D-artist myself...

Very good for your first outing. Also was this the whole set or are you putting the rest up when you get your site up and running (btw I can't wait)?

In all honesty, while the female character is perfect as ever, the little dog thing makes this more funny that erotic.

@Mongo Bongo
Out of mere curiosity: Are you planning any remakes of these old classics?

A3 of course? I'm surprised despite my love of A3 (and A4) :) Nice series.

Lo-res ground is not a bad thing, if you are okay with tiling to get the detail for the closeups. If you make a texture that tiles vertically and horizontally, then lower the U_Scale and V_Scale attributes from their default of 1.00 on the texture itself in the material editor in Poser, it will increase the detail without having to increase geometry. You can do this on just a simple plane. Alternately, you can use a plane or manipulated plane (e.g. a 'warped' plane with surface deformation) and then just have all of the polys in the plane assigned the same UV coordinates, again tiling your textures and increasing the detail in closeup. If you don't want to tile your textures, however, you're just going to have to suck it up and use a big texture. When going for detail, I always use a 4096 square pixel texture. Unless your rig has 16GB of RAM, anything more cannot be cached in memory without drastically slowing down load times. And I mean DRASTICALLY. Like, make you think the program has crashed. :)
