Naruto - Hinata & Killer B

Little known fact - Hinata doesn't really like Naruto. She's just a complete whore for anyone with a Tail Beast sealed inside of them. Believe it! And when given the chance to see what the Eight Tails is all about, she can't pass up the chance. So had originally intended for this set to be around 12 pics and to finish it on Wednesday. Yeeaahhh. I should know by now that simply isn't the way things work. Once I start rendering, more and more ideas start popping into my head. And instead we get sets twice the size. Had fun playing with some effects that I hadn't messed around with for awhile. So it's all good.

Oh, and on a side note, has anybody else run into issues with the paysite not formatting correctly? On one laptop it looks fine and normal. On the other it's just a mess of text and pics on a white screen. Both running Firefox 12 so not sure what's up.

New Site Finally Done!

After way too much time battling with html code, wrangling things with the subscription service, and various other things it's finally done - www.mongo-bongo-art.com is active! Now before it comes as a huge shocker, it is a pay site. $11.99/month. Sad but true. If you can't afford it, don't worry I will still update the blog. There will just be more stuff on the paysite. Yell at the folks who screwed me on commissions if you want to blame somebody.

Also here's another teaser for the new site. Some watermarked pics, and a few b-side pics (basically pics I didn't think were good enough for the set). Turns out the set is loosely based on an anime called Devil Hunter Yohko. Never even knew until a couple weeks ago. LOL. It started as a commission last year. But ended with the all too familiar "time to pay half" and the client vanishes. Rather frustrating to say the least. But whatever. Still made for a fun set.

Random Doodlings

Some random stuff I've been playing with for a bit. Test pics and doodles for possible sets and the like. I really should make a habit of posting these things more often.

In any case, a geisha chick for if-and-when I ever get around to doing the asian-theme story I've been tossing around. Yeah, yeah, I know some of you aren't as keen on Sengoku stuff as you are on Sword&Sorcery, but I like it. So there. :-P

And also caught up on reading some X-Men after a few years. Gotta say I like some of it. Fell in love with Pixie as soon as I saw her. 'Course I've always been a huge fan of the Limbo themes in X-Men so hard not too love her. And yeah always been a fan of the soulless Russian blonde Illyana Rasputin aka Magik. (Though having faced many Russians in MMOs I don't think any of them actually have souls to begin with - just kidding... not really though ;-P ) So definitely gonna have to do a pic of her too, and probably a Pixie/Magik set as well.

And Jubilee finally got interesting! I utterly despised the character when she first came out. Just a bad ripoff of Kitty Pryde/Wolverine dynamic. And fireworks? That's her mutant power? Really? Much cooler as a vampire now. And of course gonna have to do something with her and X-23 at some point.

Will have to make a pic of Dani Moonstar too. Hard to go wrong with a cross of hottie Native American and Valkyrie. Which amusingly enough is related to how I got into X-Men in the first place - X-Men Annual & New Mutants Special Edition where they go to Asgard, Storm replaces Thor as God of Thunder, Dani becomes a Valkyrie, Magik gets all sorts of fucked-up, and more! Was a fun little story!

Random Asian Stuff

Some character studies I've been playing around with on and off. Pondering doing a series based on them. Heavily influenced by Soul Calibur, Samurai Shodown, L5R, Samurai Champloo (which if you've never seen, you should! Fucking awesome!), and various other stuff.

Currently working on the Bretonnia Knight set, a set with a Elf Warrior and Orc, and an old half-done A3 set with the bannergirl on the right. Eventually one of them will get done.
