Archives & New Toys

Ok, so first things first. After REPEATED requests, I've finally uploaded almost all of the old sets from the blog. So they are in the member's galleries to check out. A bunch went into a new "Archives" page, while others went into pages where they made sense. You can try and track down where they are. It'll be like a treasure hunt... a super easy one. Also I added the sets to the Download pages for both member's and visitors - free for both (cuz somebody will undoubtedly ask). So yay for that. Only took me ALL FREAKING DAY to do!! Thought it was gonna a quick hour or two. LOL. No.

Also new toys. If you've been browsing our little circle lately you may have seen me jizzing all over the place about Erogenesis' new LaliBits package. Seriously it is freaking awesome! So awesome that I will actually recommend that you go to Re-... Rrrrr.... Renderrrrr.... Renderotica! There. Said it. Go there and buy it. (Yes, I still rage at them. Never forgive, never forget.) But seriously, if you render, buy it. If you don't render, go and buy it for somebody that does render. It's that good. Did some quick renders to show the difference between the old and new. A bit more informative than me man-loving all over it.

Bad part about buying the package (which I bought within an hour of it being released) is that I have no self-control. True story, I don't. Once I start spending, I spend. So ended up buying a bunch of other crap there. And then a few hours later ended up at that bottomless hole into which I pour money. Commonly known as Daz3D. And unfortunately they were running a sale. But unlike most of their sales, this one was good - 50% off Stonemason, Merlin, AprilYSH, and DzFire. Plus a sale on Steampunk stuff. So ended up shelling out $150 for $250 worth of 3d toys. Nice discount, but still.... Ugh.

Woah, comparison shots really brings to light the amount of post-work that needs to be done there. Really glad you found a replacement. You seem very excited and I personally can't wait to see what you can do with the new stuff.

Hey, thanks for this helpful review. I'd been thinking of picking up LaliBits, even though I just got the revise Arduino. Basically, I want something that I don't have to do a lot of work with either magnets/extra-morphs or post-work -- so this seems like a really good deal.

Let us know when you start using it in your renders.

Well that was fun... Instead of working on the next set, I got to spend the evening filing DMCA notices cuz some people felt it necessary to post sets all over the freaking place. Comes with running a paysite I guess, but still a major pain in the ass. It's nice that people want to share my stuff, but still... dicking me in the wallet doesn't really help anyone.

3D is a black-hole ... of sorts :) Love the side-by-side. I've always wondered which genital morph you use. I've been still on the old Magic-G despite it being too angular (the vagina open literally is a SQUARE!) I just need to figure out the texture issues, as my desired textures all turn way too dark .. suspect it might be related to Lali using SSS, which I don't use. But who knows, maybe I'm just tripp'n :)

thanks for sharing the old sets!
only just having 'discovered' the genre about a year ago i missed out on your old blog.
i must admit i already got almost all of the sets from dark sources,
except for the brilliant warcraft set.
you've doubtlessly advanced quite a bit in the past years,
but the old stuff is hot anyway.

Mongo - I added the shader tress for the Nadiy created in Poser8 and PoserPRO 2012 on Nadiy's blog, and they are very different.

erogenesis is a BOSS! I'm still fiddling with the lali system myself but it's going to make our stuff SO much better! Can't wait to see what you come up with man!
